When a group's mission is as epic as "conservation through exploration," their website needs to pull you right into the journey. The challenge for Hankuzi was to build a site that could handle their absolutely breathtaking photography and video, while also clearly communicating the vital scientific and conservation work they do. We didn't want it to be just a gallery; it needed to be an immersive expedition.
The design process was all about storytelling. We built the website on a dark, cinematic canvas, using full-screen images and video to make you feel like you're right there with them in the field. The earthy, muted color palette was pulled directly from the landscapes they explore, and we paired it with clean, strong typography to ensure their mission and research findings were presented with the authority they deserve. It's a site designed to inspire a sense of wonder, but also to underline the critical importance of their work.
